The “Med Ball Push-Ups” is one of the best movements to stimulate growth for your chest. It is an awesome functional, athletic movement for you athletes. Remember, you will work the target muscle better by visualizing the target muscle.

Go slow (a 3-1-3 tempo), and visualize that you are squeezing water out of a sponge in the chest. Think about pushing the elbows apart as you go down, pause at the bottom feeling the chest stretch, and slowly push the elbows toward the middle on the way up.

The Med Ball Push-Ups works not only your pec major and minor in a very unique way, but because of the instability factor, works the smaller underlying muscles and tendons in a very positive way as well.

If I can get one point across to you it would be; the major key for you to make your muscles grow, relating to specific exercises is that you need to stimulate the muscle with unique tensions that they have not felt before by doing new exercises and putting the mind in the muscle and visualize squeezing the target muscle. For the most part, keep the rep tempo slow; 3 seconds down, pause for 1 second (squeezing the target muscle) and 3 seconds up.

You will not make your muscles grow by going heavier with your major lifts like the bench press, and dumbbell press. In fact if you continue to lift with the “How Much You Bench” mentality you will end up getting hurt and you will lose all the hard earned muscle you have worked for.

Remember it is not how much weight you lift, but it is how you lift it.

Seven Secrets of Hope for the New Year

Is this going to be a phenomenal year for you?

By the time you finish reading this page, my wish for you is for you to feel optimistic and hopeful that this is the year that your dreams will come true.

The fact of the matter is that the whole world is reeling from the events of the past few months. To cap it all the media has got on the band wagon and made the Global Downtown sound even worse than it is. Has this left you feeling flat and hopeless about the coming year?

The truth is that there are always some that will prosper despite the depressing financial markets.

Now I would like to help you adjust your mindset for a successful year. Imagine with me for a moment, that it’s a year from today. What have you accomplished in the past year? Did you move through the year on autopilot and can’t think where your time went, or did you realize some of your hopes and dreams? When you have finished reading this article imagine again your future, and I am sure you will find that you can answer these questions in a more positive and uplifting way.

The first secret is to ensure that your energy field is always positive. Use your positive energy to move you forward by acting as a magnet to draw your dreams towards you. See yourself keeping up a positive energy field as you move through each day. Check your emotional state on a regular basis, adjusting as necessary. Visualize yourself as a magnet that is drawing from the abundance of the universe, all that you need and desire. Imagine experiencing your life exactly as you intend it to be at the end of this coming year.

The second secret is to have big dreams, as the greater your dreams the more positive emotions you can muster to become that magnet for them to appear. Decide in your heart that this is the year that your dreams will come true. Make this a year to have positive friends who support your dreams and who will laugh and enjoy life with you. See yourself focusing on your goals and knowing that each step moves you closer to the life of your dreams.

The third secret is to believe in yourself. Self-confidence has a power of its own and when you step out into your world knowing that you are a wonderful human being you send out that positive energy that people respond to. Truly, you are a creative and talented person who has passion and a sense of adventure. You can do anything you put your mind to, and you know that persistence and hard work will get you where you want to go. Leave self-doubt behind and decide today that you will never give up on your dreams, as success is just around the corner.

The fourth secret is giving up worry. It is so true that worry is a form of negative prayer, and creates unwanted energy. In your heart you do have a natural strength that will always see you through any dark places to the sunshine on the other side. Just remember that, if your worry isn’t life threatening then it is just not worth expending your energy on it. Ninety-nine percent of your worries will never happen. Save your life-force to reach your goals and let go of all despondency. Every day is a new opportunity to begin your life afresh. You are stronger than you may think and when you keep sending out positive energy the universe has to respond by turning everything around for your good.

The fifth secret is taking time to enjoy your life. Remember what is most important to you. Show your family and friends how much you appreciate them and spend time enjoying their company. It is true that all work makes Jack or Jill a dull boy or girl. Each day is special and only comes around once, and it is your responsibility to laugh, smile and have fun for part of that day. The essence of life is love, and it is love that truly matters above all else, when you give love and receive love your life will be a pleasure and joy to you.

The sixth secret is to be true to yourself. Ask yourself, what is your authentic destiny? Are you following the path that others have laid down for you, or are you flying high, living the life that is intended for you? What is important is your journey, a journey that is magnificent and rewarding. Don’t let fear stop you from stepping into that wonderful future that is your destiny. It really is quite simple. Just ask yourself, do you wake up each day with joy and anticipation? If you don’t, then decide today that you will seek your own path and move towards a splendid future. Listen to your inner voice and it will lead you to a rewarding and enjoyable tomorrow.

The seventh secret is to make measurable plans and stick to them. It is a reality that you do have to plan your future, as a ship without a destination will never arrive. Don’t be tossed around on a sea of indecision, or blown by the winds of confusion. Know where you are going and why, and don’t be afraid to take the road less travelled. Use your talents and passions as this will give you the enthusiasm that will catapult you to achieve your goals even faster. Find out what your strong sense of purpose is and move in that direction.

I just know that you have what it takes to make all of your dreams come true. Have faith in yourself, for you are a unique and magnificent person. Walk each day in integrity, kindness and love, as the universe always rewards these qualities. You cannot fail when you truly believe.

Developing Your Supernatural Abilities – Answers To 3 Questions On Psychic Self-defense

1. Do people have supernatural powers?

The word “supernatural,” according to Webster’s Dictionary, means “beyond the visible observable universe” or “what appears to transcend the laws of nature.” However, the word has taken on different connotations today. We tend to think of “supernatural” to mean the same thing as “paranormal,” meaning not scientifically explainable. Not exactly the same, but very close.

For many philosophers and scientists, supernatural abilities are mystical powers. They call to mind ghosts and spirits and things that go bump in the night. They laugh at psychics and mediums. They discount anything supernatural as phony and deceitful.

But supernatural abilities aren’t so uncommon. Intuition is a supernatural ability. Telepathy, a trait common to many twins, is a supernatural ability. In many ways, creativity is a supernatural ability. These things are not, in fact, super-natural. They are completely natural, inherent human qualities. They lend a sense of wonder and mystery to life and make the world a magical place.

In history, there are many records of times and events when the supernatural was something to fear and destroy. Burning witches, trials during the Inquisition, even some modern persecution reveals a deep-seeded fear of anything we can’t explain or understand.

Thankfully, modern societies are a little more accepting of the concept and a little more open to exploring its qualities. Some scientists are conducting experiments to document supernatural abilities. And the explosion of television programs about hunting ghosts and exploring the paranormal support the notion that the supernatural is with us today.

In fact, we all have “supernatural” qualities, that is qualities that seem to transcend the laws of our physical universe. Each of us has at their core a spiritual energy center that radiates about us in what is called an aura. This energy field or cocoon reflects our general condition – the combination of our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

To have a strong healthy aura, we must be strong, healthy people. Healthy people with good mental attitudes, balanced emotional lives, and spiritual strength have strong bright auras. People who are ill, mentally or emotionally distressed, or spiritually poor have weak dark auras. It is possible for negative people, dominated by negative energies and influences, can actually drain the energy from positive people and even injure them.

To strengthen our spiritual energies and our aura, we must rid ourselves of our negative aspects. We must engage in careful introspection to identify harmful thought patterns and negative emotions that block us from spiritual growth. We must replace those negative energies with positive energies.

One way to do that is to re-connect with nature. Fresh air and warm sunshine fill us with positive energy that overwhelms pessimism, anger, and stress. It gives us the opportunity to build our positive energies and cultivate our super-natural abilities. In turn, we are motivated to follow a healthy positive lifestyle. The journey toward spiritual growth and a strong healthy aura begins. And we can begin to develop our psychic self-defense skills.

2. What is psychic self-defense?

People use many different approaches to protect themselves against danger, injury, and harm. We intuitively know when we’re in danger. Frequently, that unnamed fear leads us to anxiety and flight. However, it is very important to remain calm in these situations.

Psychic attacks, or those times when negative energies or influences assail us, are the frequent causes of such unfocused fear. In order to prevent and avoid negative energies, we must have a strong spiritual core and aura. This requires us to reduce and eliminate the negative energies within and to nurture our personal positive energies and strength.

In situations where you feel threatened, you may be responding to a psychic attack. Your fear and anxiety actually feed the negative energies assaulting you. You must remain calm and unafraid. Keep cool and focused. Use relaxation techniques like deep breathing, focusing on pleasant thoughts and memories, and get in touch with your spiritual center. Refuse to focus on the negative, and concentrate on the positive.

Focus on your surroundings to find positive energies to support you. Rely on the power of your healthy aura to protect you. Do not allow yourself to feel fear or anxiety or you will open the door to negative power.

3. How can I build a stronger aura?

The first step in spiritual development and developing a strong healthy aura is introspection, eliminating negative energies from your mind, body, and emotions. You must look inside to see where you are being fearful, angry, selfish, or intolerant and smash those emotions and ideas. They are not real. They are by-products of the negative energy. You must cleanse yourself of these and replace them with positive thoughts and emotions. You must change your perspective.

There are many practices and techniques that are effective in strengthening the aura. First, and most effective, is meditation. Meditation clears the mind, relaxes the body, and allows you to connect with your spiritual core and your innate super-natural abilities.

Do some personal research in areas that may have seemed “out-there” before. Investigate eastern philosophies, astrology, and paranormal science. Learn what you can about the full range of human qualities so that you can tap into these qualities inside you. Join a yoga class. Investigate holistic healing and herbal remedies to rid your body of chemical medications and clean out modern toxins. Try acupuncture to help you learn to relax and to relieve pain without medications.

Fine-tuning the supernatural is largely a matter of getting in touch with the natural. It’s reducing and eliminating our dependence on modern chemistry and increasing our reliance on the healing powers of nature. It’s focusing on non-technological activities and interests and returning to more traditional arts, music, and creative pursuits. It’s learning more about the full range of human abilities and talents and attending less to what academicians and scientists limit us to.

As you broaden your internal horizons and nurture your positive spirit-based energies, you’ll have a stronger, healthier aura that will protect you from negative energies and psychic attacks.

The Healing Presence of God’s Love

God’s love as a healing presence in the world is growing stronger daily. Many people are not yet able to perceive this growing presence of light, because there also exists at this time a thick cloud of negative energy that is surrounding the Earth. This acts to obscure both the perception and the consciousness of people, and to create feelings of isolation and despair.

These feelings are not the spiritual reality of this time; they are produced by the presence of much negative energy in the atmosphere of the Earth which has not yet been transformed. There are some ways that you can attune your consciousness at this time, to be able to open your heart more fully to experience and receive more of God’s healing presence and light.

As you reach out to God and open to divine love, you not only nourish yourself, but you will also support your fellow human beings on the Earth by holding a presence of light and love. This has a powerful effect on the world and on all those around you.

It has been said that God’s love can heal all. This is a spiritual reality, which restores a soul to their original purity and divine essence. All that has been out of harmony with God’s love is released and transformed. This healing process is happening not only for individuals but for humanity as a whole at this time.

There is a growing understanding among many people on the Earth that there is much change happening in the world, and that there is a need for people to come together to solve the problems of the world. This awareness is one of the first signs of an awakening humanity that will one day fully know and feel and experience the presence of God’s love as a living reality.

God’s love can be not only felt in your awareness, but also can now be felt tangibly in many sacred places on the Earth. God’s love can also be felt radiating from the hearts and minds and bodies of many spiritual healers, lightworkers and teachers who are present on the Earth to assist humanity in this awakening process.

There are two ways that you can begin to feel and receive more of the healing presence of God’s love in your life. One is to take a few minutes each day to quietly meditate, pray, spend time in nature, or simply sit and breathe. As you do this regularly, with the deep prayer and intention to open your awareness to receive more of God’s love, your awareness and perception will open and you will begin to experience yourself in a new way.

The other way that you can begin to more fully experience God’s love is to join with other souls in prayer, meditation, worship, or spiritual practice. There are many ways to experience God’s love, and the form of the spiritual gathering is not important. What is important is that you choose a group, spiritual path or religious practice that you feel connected with, that uplifts, refreshes and restores you.

In any spiritual gathering, the participants must put aside their own personal concerns for a time and focus on God. When a group of people does this, the healing effect is profound, and benefits not only the participants but also the Earth itself and all beings that are nearby, experiencing the radiance of love and light that is generated from such a sacred gathering.

At this time on the Earth when there is much suffering, all that you do to bring greater love and light into the world is of benefit to humanity. Even the small, simple thoughts and actions that no one but God sees are significant, for all your thoughts and actions contribute to the magnificent web of life and consciousness of which you are a part.

In uplifting and transforming your own consciousness, you are participating in a much larger event which is the transformation and healing of all of humanity. We give thanks for your work, your love, your prayers and your faith.

The Secret to Weight Loss Few People Know About

New Year weight loss programmes are big business! I’ve been studying the market for a while now and keep coming to the same conclusion – any given diet will only work for certain people long term. If they don’t have many deeply ingrained negative beliefs around food and their body then they possibly will keep the weight off. I know one or two people like this – but they are few and far between.

Why would a diet work for some and not for others – because one size (or diet) doesn’t fit all. Not every body type is suited to the same food. For example, following the Ayurveda principle, eating more brocolli, cabbage and cauliflower in your diet wouldn’t be recommended if your constitution is mainly Vata dosha (thin boned) even though these vegetables are classed as health foods. The reason for this is that they produce gas and bloating and will aggravate your dosha.

How many of us have given up chocolate and swore we would never touch another piece only to tuck into a whole bar at the first signs of stress?

INTRODUCTION: The Skin’s Vital FunctioFunctions Of The Skin

Excretion:

No other organ is more actively engaged in discharging impurities from the body than the skin; it is a close relative of both the lungs and kidneys. Like the lungs, it absorbs oxygen and expels carbon dioxide and water vapor; and, like the kidneys, it excretes organic and saline matter in solution. The entire surface of the skin is impregnated with millions of sweat glands which constitute a vast drainage system whereby the blood, via perspiration, purifies itself of poisonous waste that it has collected from the cells.

Blood Circulation:

There are approximately 17 sq. feet of skin surface; when its capillaries are fully dilated, it presents 6-times the capillary surface area of the lungs. This vast blood vessel network is required for: 1) nutrition and oxygenation of skin tissue; 2) regulation of body heat (the blood is cooled when it moves through the surface capillaries); 3) distillation of waste matter from the blood; 4) the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between blood and atmosphere. The skin’s blood vessel network is as crucial as the heart for normal circulation. The vast storage capacity of the skin’s blood vessels enable them to act as blood reservoirs which release or store blood as needed.

Lymph Circulation:

The lymph vessels transport excess, waste-charged fluid away from the intercellular spaces and return it to the bloodstream. Lymph acts as a go-between medium for the transfer of vital materials from the blood to the cells, and for cellular debris away from the intercellular environment into the blood. Thus, the blood feeds the lymph, and the lymph feeds the cells, making the drainage of intercellular lymph one of the most crucial of all body functions. The superficial lymph vessels terminate just below the outer layer of skin and interjoin freely with the deeper lymphatic vessels. Any blockage at the superficial lymphatic level will result in congestion throughout the whole lymphatic system. Skin-brushing is an excellent way to stimulate the activity of the entire lymphatic system.

Bioenergy Conduction:

“Aliveness” derives from the presence of high-vibratory, vital energy within an organism. This energy, or natural force, which fills the universe is referred to in traditional naturopathy and homeopathy as Vital Force and in Chinese medicine as Chi. Hence, I have coined the term Vital Chi.

Vital Chi is the fundamental energy which sustains life and is present in the vibratory, biological processes of every cell. Vital Chi is not synonymous with the metabolically generated energy derived from the oxidation of glucose. Rather, it is the force that animates the metabolic processes which ultimately yield caloric energy. Vital Chi differentiates life from death; it circulates through channels, or meridians, throughout the body. Being an essential matrix for the Vital Chi channels, the skin is a crucial medium for Vital Chi movement. The places at which the various channels and vessels reach the skin’s surface are the “acupoints” used in acupuncture and acupressure. Aside from the Vital Chi which courses through the channels, a superficial portion of Vital Chi (which the Chinese refer to as Wei Chi or Guardian Chi) flows outside the channels in a non-differentiated layer beneath the skin. The Wei Chi serves as a defensive perimeter protecting against environmental influences such as varying weather conditions, pathogenic microorganisms, pollutants, emotional stresses derived from human interaction and other external challenges.

The Primary Benefits of Vital Chi Skin-Brushing

Assists Shedding of Dead Skin Cells:

The outermost layer of skin cells which serve to protect the underlying skin layers are not living cells, thus, they are continuously shed and replaced via the multiplication and upward movement of living skin cells. Inactive aging skin does not shed dead cells as easily as does youthful skin, so it is susceptible to cellular build-up which accounts, in part, for the dry, thick, leathery-look of older skin. The most obvious mechanical effect of skin-brushing is the detachment of dead skin cells.

Excites Vital Functions:

Proper skin-brushing supports lymphatic drainage of the skin by: 1) accelerating filtration from the intercellular spaces into the lymph vessels, 2) the emptying of the smaller vessels into the larger lymph vessels; 3) assisting the flow of lymph through the lymph nodes.

Skin-brushing similarly increases venous (i.e., vein) blood flow. The veins carry the blood back to the heart. Return blood-flow through the veins is not propelled as much by direct heart action as by muscular contraction and vein constriction. Skin-brushing excites and tonifies the muscles and nerves of the skin, thus, it improves venous circulation. These same mechanical effects directly enhance capillary circulation as evidenced by the skin-flush and feeling of warmth that skin-brushing imparts.

The skin is impregnated with nerve end-fibers which play an indispensable role in nervous system activity. This explains the remarkable relaxing effect, including decreased muscular tension, elicited by skin-brushing. Decreased muscular tension affords better lung capacity, digestion, bowel movements, blood circulation, lymph drainage as well as clearer thinking.

Strengthens the Bioenergy System:

Unimpeded Vital Chi flow is essential to the prevention and cure of disease. Since the Vital Chi meridians course through the skin, they are readily accessible to the ministrations of skin-brushing. When these channels are massaged, the movement of energy along their length is stimulated and the delivery of Vital Chi to their associated organs greatly improved. Proper skin-brushing can also exert a profound influence upon the Wei Chi: the undifferentiated layer of Vital Chi which hovers near the skin’s surface.

Benefits Mature Skin:

Decreased sweat- and oil gland functions are a feature of aging. The oil secreted by the sebaceous glands coats the surface of the skin and prevents excessive water-loss through evaporation. Proper skin-brushing stimulates both the sweat- and oil glands, and in this way, contributes to the restoration of moist, supple skin. Also, it strengthens the skin pores through which the skin is moisturized and cleansed and oxygen and CO2 are exchanged. Aging and devitalization of the skin often results in pore-enlargement and flaccidity due to loss of skin tone and depleted Wei Chi.

Promotes Skin Beauty:

Skin-brushing makes a strong impression upon the dermis (the skin layer that contains an abundance of blood and lymph vessels), nerves, glands and elastin and collagen fibers. The dermis provides nutrients and moisture to all the skin layers and lends contour and flexibility. When the dermis ages, its connective tissue fibers reduce, rigidify, lose resilience and even break into pieces, causing the skin’s support muscles to lose tone and volume and the skin to dehydrate and collapse into sags, wrinkles and lines.

Healthy connective tissue and muscles are products of efficient nutrient support and oxygenation, a waste-free milieu, optimal water balance and moderate exercise, all of which are promoted by regular skin-brushing. The gentle stretching of connective tissues, afforded by proper skin-brushing, helps to increase and regenerate the production of collagen and elastin fibers.

Cellulite is a structural disturbance of fat tissue. The fat content of cellulite-containing tissue is normal, but fibrous nodules surrounding the fat cells give affected skin areas their typical orange-peel appearance. Cellulite formation is related, in part, to local vein and lymph congestion. Proper skin-brushing can help to alleviate this condition.
